NOTES: The back cover contains the following story. "To the rear of the villa was a dry river-bed. Here an old Roman wall towered, with a mythical lion carved into the keystone, decaying; male agama lizards with blue bellies sunned themselves vertically, gazing with the cold eyes of dinosaurs. Locals said that the river had not run for many years, so what was left was, in reality, more of a dirt track, with an embankment on either side. The embankments were topped with tall "hedges" of bamboo, some bare and greying in the sun. Behind these hid lemon and olive groves, regimented and dry. The dust river ran an almost straight course up to what must have been a large lake, but was now the local dump, filled with heaps of car skeletons, bare uprooted trees and oil drums, like the remains of dead creatures and garden shrubs after some decadent Biblical Flood. Between these symbolic burial mound wound tyre tracks, parched eddies, dust whirlpools stirred by bulldozers and trucks. As we were hobbling towards this graveyard, we realised we were being watched by a young local in a combat jacket, sitting on an old grey tree stump, next to an abandoned chicken coop. As we approached him up the bank, we noticed the shotgun under his arm, and the flopping head of a turtle dove hanging dead from his belt. He questioned us in Greek, but because we did not speak the language, his face soon became clouded with boredom, and he sloped off into the drooping trees. Later we re-entered the river above the dump, and here the whole river bed was composed of dented rusty cans and planks of man made driftwood. Yellow and purple flowers glowed amongst the waving, evaporated reeds, and shrikes and warblers squeaked and rustled in their depths. All of this stretch of the river bed reeked of decomposing meat and deafened with the buzzing of flies. And sure enough, every thirty yards or so we would stumble across a long-gone cat or dog, its skull poking through the red-brown fragmenting tat of its scalp. Swallowtail butterflies glided through this drowned holocaust with the ease of ignorance." Song lengths are given as L.A. Juice (3.40), Another Hazy Day On The Lazy 'A' (4.12), Cut The Cake (3.25) and Deadthink (3.21). ""The WOLFHOUNDS" are David Lance Callahan (vocals), Andrew Dominic Bolton (bass), Paul Laurence Clark (guitar), Andrew Golding (guitar) and Frances Michael Stebbing (drums). This record was recorded at Scarf Studios in Bow, in November 1985. It was produced by Nigel 'Chopper' Palmer and produced and mixed by Geoffrey Perrin. The photograph is an Andrew Springman original. The Wolfhounds would like to thank the majority of their friends and acquaintances, but especially Chris French, Mike Spencer, Paul Sutton, Simon Down, Robin Sand, Richard Knight, Andy Springham, Jason Hunt, Geoffrey Perrin, Paul Mulrainey and Martin Stebbing." All tracks written by the Wolfhounds. Run off grooves: a- side "50 P. A PEEP" b-side "BRIGHT GREEN KALEIDOSCOPE WILDS!"

i have never seen the reissue lp. Given the catalogue number, i
am assuming that it was Midnight's first Wolfhounds release.
If that is true, the cd release was subsequently re-copyrighted,
though the original catalogue number was retained. Until i can
confirm the actual date of the reissue lp, i will leave it combined
with the cd as a 1990 release. (*) appear on the cd only, i think.
